Principal and CEO
Originally from Wales, Darryl is married to Milagros and is the father of two children, both of whom attended the school. Darryl began his career as a secondary school teacher in Kenya, but has spent the last thirty years working in and leading international schools in Kenya, Venezuela and the USA before taking up his current post as Principal in August 2012.
An IB North America workshop leader (Mathematics), academy member and accreditation officer (IB, CIS and AdvancED), Darryl balances his work in education with a passion for rugby; continually trying, and occasionally succeeding, in dispelling the myth that he is too old to play. Darryl speaks English and Spanish.

Nicola holds a PhD in English in which she specialized in modern American literature and has taught at The Codrington School for the past 12 years. Previously Nicola held the role of MYP Coordinator and has been involved with Model United Nations, debate and drama. She is fascinated by the learning journey and sees the essence of education as a transformative process. Her aim is to enable Codrington students to become not only informed scholars, but genuinely curious thinkers, compassionate citizens and lifelong learners.

As a physical and health education teacher, Tanner believes in creating meaningful experiences through student choice, promoting lifelong interest in physical activity and health initiatives. Over the past 8 years, Becky has been employed in IB World Schools in Dubai, British Virgin Islands and Italy, where she has held various teaching and Middle Leadership roles, of which Approaches to Learning Skills Lead was one of her most enjoyable and added a more creative and rounded approach to her teaching.
She then graduated from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom with a Masters Degree in Media and Cultural Studies. Chrystal holds a Diploma in Education with Distinction from the Erdiston Teaching College in Barbados.

In addition to teaching, Ron coached varsity boys basketball and was the assistant coach for Math Counts. Ron understands the struggles that some students go through with maths because he experienced them also and that is why he feels he is a perfect fit to teach the subject. Ron is excited about “living” the island life with his wife, Betsy, and their two dogs, Bucky and Wanda. Ron is a comic book collector and big Marvel fan, he also enjoys movies, puzzles, and all things nerdy.

Her philosophy of education is that all children are unique and as such should be taught in an environment where they can grow and build upon their prior knowledge in order to reach their full potential. Peggy is a mother of two beautiful girls and enjoys spending every spare moment she can with them. She also enjoys making cold process soap, candles, photography and listening to music.

Building a connection with her school and local community has always been important to Barbara. Through athletics and community theatre, she has had many opportunities to build strong relationships with her students and neighbours. Barbara is very much looking forward to teaching in the PYP classroom and feels that it is the perfect fit for her.
He believes we can interpret the world through art, and continually works on his own art practice when he can. He also has a passion for genealogy and travelling, and enjoys exploring and documenting.

Born and raised in Spain, Beatriz has been teaching Spanish at International Schools in India for the past 6 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and got certified as a Spanish Language Teacher in Salamanca, Spain.
She strongly believes that learning languages opens our minds as we begin to see the world from a different perspective. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, trekking, swimming, and dancing salsa. Beatriz fell in love with the underwater world the first time she dived in Asia and she plans to continue exploring it while in the island.

Got married and moved to Barbados where I volunteered at the Drakes Christian School for Special Needs. Started working at The Codrington School in 2016 as a Teacher’s Assistant and now I’m working in the Learning Support Department. Will be continuing my studies in Special Education at the Erdiston Teacher’s Training College.

Carla has been a passionate advocate for the Primary Years Programme since she was first introduced to it because it capitalizes on children’s natural curiosity towards learning and because it focuses on the development of the whole child. Some of her proudest moments in teaching have been watching former students work their way through the various year levels to graduate with the I.B. Diploma. Carla’s hobbies outside school include soccer, tap dancing, listening to music and traveling. She was fortunate to combine two of those passions when she represented the Bahamian National Soccer Team in international tournaments in the Dominican Republic, Bermuda and the U.S.A.
Since she began teaching at The Codrington School, she has taught PYP3 for three years, and then began teaching PYP8. Her favorite things about living in Barbados are the beaches, the food, the music, and being a part of both local and international communities. In her free time, she enjoys working out, reading, being outdoors, traveling, and teaching Zumba classes to adults and children.

Lloyd is a graduate of the University of the West of England where he got a BA (hons) in History and Geography and PGSE in Secondary History. In addition to teaching History, he has taught a range of Individuals and Societies subjects such as geography, politics, and citizenship. In his career he has also been a form tutor, CAS advisor, subject leader, head of department and in his last post was Extended Essay Coordinator.
Lloyd is a self-confessed History geek and really enjoys learning about aspects of the past he had not studied before. He believes that an understanding of the past is vital to understand the world that we live in now.
In his spare time, he likes to learn new languages on Duolingo (currently he is learning Romanian), he has been learning to ski, travelling as well as reading History books. In Barbados he is hoping to be able to play cricket and rugby again as well as exploring the island and the region.

Paula holds a degree in English studies and a Master´s degree in Teaching Spanish as a second language from the International University Menéndez Pelayo (Spain). She has been teaching Spanish for over 15 years at different universities in Spain, England and Barbados.
She has wide research background on second language acquisition and learning.
Since her daughter Mia born, she has directed her teaching interest on Primary and Secondary Education with a Master´s in Secondary Education from Universidad Atlántico Norte, (Spain) and taking her to the Codrington School and the IB world.

David has a good knowledge of island life and enjoys being by the water and outdoors. As a keen sportsman he will try his hand at anything competitive and is a single figure golfer.
After completing his PostGraduate at Edge Hill University near Liverpool, David began his teaching career in a primary school where he taught all age groups at various points. He had a particular interest in special needs and behaviour and soon moved to a secondary school that catered for students with additional needs. During this time, he had many roles including Head of Maths and Computing and was part of the wellbeing team.
He has always desired to work abroad though and so jumped at the chance to work at the Codrington School. As an aspiring leader he is very excited to continue to broaden his knowledge of curriculums and teaching styles to best support students.

Ashleigh’s teaching journey began in Korea, where she moved for the first time shortly after university to teach English. Since then, she has lived and taught in Australia, Korea, Kuwait, Japan, and again in Korea teaching middle and high school art and design in the international school setting. This has helped enrich her teaching practice with diverse cultural experiences over the years.
In addition to her teaching career, Ashleigh is an avid swimmer and has coached swimming, one of her lifelong passions. She also enjoys photography, creating art, and learning new things to enhance her practice. Recently, she has been expanding her expertise through courses in physical design and engineering.
Ashleigh is excited to join our community and looks forward to combining her love for teaching, design, and building with her enthusiasm for swimming, sailing, diving, surfing, and enjoying the outdoors.

As well as being Head of Modern Foreign Languages for many years, Charlotte has been a form tutor right across the secondary age range, and was previously Student Wellbeing Lead. She is passionate about the pastoral side of teaching, and is looking forward to joining The Codrington Family.
Charlotte is eager to continue her Caribbean adventure and immerse herself into Bajan life. She has designs on completing her second sea swim and learning to play the steel pan. A fish and vegetable lover, Charlotte will be found at Oistins every Friday and at Brighton Market every Saturday!
Charlotte is a massive Newcastle United fan, and spends her free time underwater, watching – not playing! – sport, cooking, eating, dancing to soca music, and booking her next trip.

Diana returned to Barbados to raise her daughter and has worked in Barbados privately as a Psychotherapist.
Diana loves animals and nature. She likes to spend her free time outdoors with her daughter riding horses, sailing or exploring the beautiful gulleys of Barbados. She also loves to read and bake cakes!

Sabrina specialized in Design and Illustration, holding a Graphic Design Degree from the Collage of West Palm Beach in Florida and assists with all of the school’s graphics.
In her free time, she enjoys horse riding, taking her dogs to the beach and having fun with family and friends.

Her early career started in the Tourism Industry after she completed a 2-year Diploma in Tourism at the
Barbados Community College. Upon leaving that industry she earned the Certified Administrative
Managers Certification and started studying with CGA Canada.
Paulette relocated to the USA where she commenced studies at the City University of New York for a BSc. in Accounting with CPA option.
On returning to Barbados she held positions such as Accounting Officer and Assistant Accountant in the project management, retail, and manufacturing sectors.
Paulette is a lover of classical music and has earned up to Grade 5 in Music Theory from the Royal School of Music. She has also studied project management and variety of computer applications and was a Word-Processing Tutor for about five years.
She is also the leader of our Duke of Edinburgh’ Program and on the Award Council and Expedition Panel. Dawn wears many ‘hats’ and is always willing to assist with a smile.
