BEF 2016-17
So what has happened this year so far?
We had two businesses that were highly commended, ran by Alexa (Bliss Blend) & Edward (Ed’s Colouring Cards). We also won four of the top eight category prizes:
- Excellence in Branding – Emilie & Sara (Nature)
- Innovation in Health & Culinary Arts – Aidan (Bajan Essentials)
- Excellence in Research & Development – Emilie & Sara (Nature) again!
- Niche market & spirit of entrepreneurship – Anais & Melissa (Aroma Lite)
We were also crowned joint national overall champions too, with our very own Nature – Sara & Emilie! Again! This is the now the third year in a row that we have been awarded overall national champions! 2014-15 was Amber, 2015-16 was Aurora and now Emilie & Sara! Fingers crossed for 2017-18 to be four in a row! Various prizes were won including stationery, sunglasses, books, virtual reality headsets, tablets, lunch with local entrepreneurs and corporate internships!
March 2017 saw us go to UWIs’ Cavehill School of Business to present various sums of monies to the charities that the students chose to donate most of their profits too. In total MYP 4 businesses made a total profit of just under $5000 and $4200 will be donated to charities!
I am sure you will join me in congratulating the above students, along with all of MYP 4 for their excellent efforts and achievements. I am very proud of them all! Thank you for all your support that you gave to MYP 4 in the last few months, whether it be by buying the products, popping to see them at the market(s), filling in questionnaires, whatever you did to help their success!
