So what has happened this year so far? We had two businesses that were highly commended, ran by Alexa (Bliss Blend) & Edward (Ed's Colouring Cards). We also won four of the top eight category prizes: Excellence in Branding - Emilie & Sara (Nature) 2. Innovation in Health & Culinary Arts - Aidan (Bajan Essentials) 3. 2017 International Trip to Japan This was a rare wonderful opportunity to see the breathtaking natural beauty, witness amazing living history and enjoy the exotic tasty food of the Land of the rising sun, Japan. Students and parents embarked on a twelve- day history and cultural trip to cities of historic Hiroshima, ancient capital Kyoto, a day in tranquil Nara, neon city of Osaka and the ultra-modern high tech mega city of Tokyo. They indulged in traditional hotels called ryokans that are surrounded with wonderful gardens and pristine landscapes for relaxing strolls in solitude places such as temples and shrines.

Classroom to Boardroom (C2B) 2016 Back in October 2016 I sat in a corporate boardroom in awe of the outcomes of a young woman’s leadership and of two people who worked so hard and presented like consummate professionals. The people that filled me with pride were our very own Saskia (DP 2) and Saxon & Nico (DP 1). Saskia had spent the week leading a team of 30 people (whom in the main she had never met before) to present solutions in response to a very real challenge. The Codrington School Big Winners at the BEF $20 Challenge AGAIN!

Saturday 12th March saw the Ceremony for the 2015-16 BEF (Barbados Entrepreneurship Foundation Inc.) Flow $20 Challenge at the Concorde Experience. The challenge gives all fourth and fifth formers in EVERY school in Barbados the opportunity to run his/her own business. As many of you will know, this year ALL MYP 4 students took part in the challenge this year and each ran his/her own business which meant many students put in many extra hours outside of school, on his/her own, with a partner or in a three; we had seven businesses running in total! Wales International Trip 2016 The students travelled to the Outward Bound Centre in Aberdovey, Wales. They engaged in activities such as Rock climbing, abseiling, hiking, camping, canoeing, and rafting for five days of activities aimed at developing confidence and teamwork.
