1. First Steps

Thank you for our interest in The Codrington School.  We encourage you to register your interest in the School by clicking on the below “Registration of Interest” button

Following on from that we encourage you schedule an appointment to visit our campus and experience the welcoming atmosphere of our school community.

During your visit, you will be introduced to our ethos and exciting approach to learning. You will also have the opportunity to meet the Principal, Mr. Darryl Brown, the relevant Head of School (Head of Primary – Mr. Rob Fuller, Head of Secondary – Dr. Nicola Leedham), view classrooms and see our teachers and students in action!

We appreciate that this is not possible for everyone, so we do encourage you to visit our website or schedule a “call” with our Admissions Team where we can hopefully answer any and all of your questions

If you believe that Codrington would be a good fit for your child we encourage you to continue with the Student Application process as outlined below.

Upon receiving your Admission Documents, we will invite your applicant to enjoy a Taster Day.  The Taster Day is a wonderful chance for the student to enjoy a typical day at school. The student is assigned a buddy who helps them to become familiar with their new surroundings.

Classes at The Codrington School comprise of approximately 15 students per class and we offer one class per grade level.  Our small class sizes provides the opportunity students to receive individual student attention and ensures that standards of excellence are maintained.

Student enrollment is available throughout the academic year.

2. The Application Process

Please click on the below “Student Application” button to take you through the process.

Applications can be submitted throughout the year and are processed once all required documentation has been received. Please note that in order for an application to be reviewed and a decision made, the school’s Application and Screening Fee must be paid. Completed applications are generally reviewed in the order in which they are received, provided the student demonstrates the ability to meet grade-level expectations within the resources available at the school.

As part of the Admissions process for the MYP and DP, applicants are required to complete a Screening Assessment, which is scheduled once the documents listed below have been received. Following the screening, the Admissions Team will review the applicant’s file and determine whether a Firm Offer of Acceptance can be issued. This process normally takes up to two weeks. Once a Firm Offer has been issued, families have two weeks to confirm their acceptance.

While applications may be submitted at any time, mid-year admissions are limited and are considered on a case-by-case basis depending on space availability and the student’s ability to transition successfully into the academic program. Decisions regarding mid-year entry are made at the discretion of the Head of School and Principal.

Admission decisions are made following a review of transcripts, the School Recommendation Form, screening and placement assessments, and any other relevant records. Where appropriate, an interview may also form part of the admissions process.

Our admissions process is holistic in nature. While academic readiness is an important factor, we also consider each student’s overall potential to thrive within our school community. This includes reviewing the applicant’s learning profile, social development, interests, and character to determine how well they may engage with our curriculum and contribute positively to the classroom and group dynamic.

The school reserves the right, at its sole discretion, either to accept or reject any application for admission. In cases where an application is not accepted, the school is under no obligation to provide specific reasons for the decision.

Students are admitted on a first come, first serve basis and only when their previous records and/or screening indicate a high likelihood that they can successfully complete grade level requirements. Admission decisions are made upon review of transcripts, School Recommendation Form, other records, Screening Assessment Placement Tests and, where possible, an interview.

The school reserves the right, at its sole discretion, either to accept or to reject any application for admission. In those cases where an application is rejected, the school is under no obligation to show cause for the non-acceptance of the child concerned.
