As you know MYP4’s Sophie and Alexandra’s businesses were short-listed as finalists for the eighth cycle of the BEF’s national $20 Challenge and this involved both of them presenting to a panel of six judges at the end of our half-term break. You will have seen their achievements being visually celebrated on the Secondary School’s Wall of Fame in the main hall foyer. In 2018 we participated in the MUN hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Barbados for the first time. Every year more than 400,000 students from schools around the globe beyond take part in Model United Nations (MUN). The Model UN is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, or other multilateral body, which introduces students to the world of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision making. The International Bccalaureate (IB) recently published its May 2014 Diploma Programme results. 135,534 secondary or high school, diploma students across the globe received their results, including the 9 graduation students at The Codrington School, The International School of Barbados in the Class of 2014
Scotland International Trip 2015 In March 2015, 11 students from the Codrington School will travel to Loch Eil in the Scottish Highlands to visit the Outward Bound center. Loch Eil is at the foot of Ben Nevis and many may know it as Harry Potter country as the local area forms part of the filming location of 'Hogwarts'. During the visit the Codrington students will participate in an intensive week of adventure outward bound activities including, rafting, canoeing, rock climbing, rappelling, hiking, camping in the mountains and much more. What began as a school challenge for a secondary school student has not turned into a passion. Fifteen year old Amber Mckenzie of Codrington school is on a mission to get the defunct Society Primary School back on the track; and she has begun with the donation of over $2,000 --- which she made from the sale of organic mosquito lotion. The fifth former was given $20 and a six week deadline to start a business or manufacture a product, as part of her business management school project under the Barbados Entrepreneurship Foundation.
